VASK, CLIPP CENTER, fort
VASK is a Spanish restaurant located in the newer part of the Fort at the Clipp Center, 11th Ave cor. 39th Street, The Fort. The Clipp center well, looks like its covered in clips.
Since I am mostly about bars and clubs you may wonder why am I writing about this place, well its because this is one of the places I would highly recommend for a first date. If you have some cash to burn and really want to impress a girl lucky enough to date you this is the place. Its new, the talk of the town and the place to be seen, gimmicky enough with its trick interiors laden with hidden Mickey's, Skull filament light bulbs (thats right) and priced somewhat right if you want to impress.
You can have dinner there, the Chef Chele is quite famous I hear but as I'm no foodie I can only name the chefs who made their own ice cream in the Selecta commercials. As I said, I am about drinks so what I do recommend is to have dinner at another place, get to know your date then bring her to Vask and sit at the bar.
Vask is known for its Pinxtos - I don't know why its spelled like that, or bites laid out on the bar for you to take with your drinks. Sitting next to each other at something as innocent as a restaurant's bar can do wonders and Vask has an extensive list of fine cocktails that may tempt you to order one by one, recommend you share, that works wonders too. The cocktails which are bloody good are P250 each! Seriously you couldn't get better anywhere else, cocktails nowadays are sugar bombs that make me angry in an hour. The outdoor deck is a great way to continue the experience as long as its not full as its community style or long benches for seating. Vask itself is plenty interesting and if you have any lull in the conversation just talk about the place, and yes that pic of that highly recommended Vask cocktail isn't distorted, the glass is really slanted!
