Opus - resorts world manila
Opus to me is one of the gems of Manila clubbing. Located on the second floor of the Newport Mall, Resorts World Manila in Pasay City, it is a bit of a trip if you live in Quezon City or Paranaque so again, safety first, think of how you will get home and never drive drunk.
Opus is a bit of a trip. Its big, along with its sister Republiq, these are the largest permanent clubs to date in the Philippines (although coming soon are a few places bidding for the throne of Manila's finest). If you are in a group I recommend getting a table or you will stand all night. Table reservations (number at the bottom) that you get to choose between a cocktail table, table with stools, sofa and table (different grades). To get a table you will have to consume a minimum amount, usually PhP 3,000 or at least a bottle of spirit - wine not included. Not too bad if you are in a group and split the bill. My friends and I during prowling days spend quite a bit more than the minimum. A table guarantees you a place to set down your drink.
Opus gets insanely crowded, I have to say that other than Republiq, it is the easiest place to meet new people (and really the main reason people go there). The food is pretty great though, the menu is by Chef Carlo Miguel of Sola, Beso and of course Biggest Loser Asia fame. A funny anecdote is that when it first opened, they served Truffle flavored popcorn and my friends and I munched away thinking it was free, and it wasn't hahahaha.
